Ingredients

Instructions
- Prepare the sushi rice: Rinse the sushi rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs nearly clear to remove excess starch. Cook the rice using a rice cooker or stovetop according to package instructions.
- Season the rice: While the rice is still warm, gently fold in a mixture of rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature, covering it with a clean towel to prevent drying.
- Slice the tuna: Using a sharp knife, slice the tuna into thin pieces approximately 2.5 inches long and less than half an inch thick. Keep the fish chilled until ready to use.
- Shape the rice: Wet your hands with cold water to prevent sticking. Take about a tablespoon of rice and gently shape it into an oval mound.
- Assemble the nigiri: (Optional) Spread a small amount of wasabi on one side of the tuna slice. Place the tuna on top of the rice mound and gently press to adhere.
- Serve: Arrange the nigiri on a plate and serve with soy sauce and pickled ginger. Enjoy each piece in one bite for the authentic experience.
